Frequently Asked Questions

Who do you normally work with?

All of River City Grant Writings' clients are non-profit organizations. For-profit companies can benefit from strategic planning services and a rare grant opportunity. Regardless of the organization, you are affiliated with, River City Grant Writing only works with organizations that do not discriminate based on race, national origin, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, sex, age, religious affiliation, or disability status.

What area do you serve?

With the ability to work remotely, River City Grant Writing can serve clients all over Michigan. At this time, we only serve organizations that work domestically, and the majority of our current clients are south of Traverse City.

How do I know that River City Grant Writing is the right consulting agency for me?

The most success comes to organizations looking to establish a long-term relationship to grow their organization. By becoming a client of River City Grant Writing, you become a part of a limited number of clients. This ensures you receive the dedication it takes to understand the inner workings of your mission and operations. To fully reap the benefits of a consulting relationship, the organization must be willing to dedicate the time to see short and long-term strategies implemented.

What should I budget? Will you work with us?

Every organization has a different budget. Working with a consultant is an investment, and it typically takes 9-18 months to reap the full benefits of a complete development program. Some clients prefer to give free rein, and others set a monthly, quarterly, or yearly budget. To be most effective, It is recommended to establish an annual budget of about $20,000 for each service. The ultimate goal is to have each client revenue positive (meaning we have made you more money than you have paid us) within 18 months. We have strategies to garner some early wins to help fund some of the long-range goals.

Where are you located?

We typically work remotely but enjoy traveling to see our clients periodically, with the majority of communication being through email, phone calls, and Zoom meetings. Our consultants live in Kent County, Barry County, and Metro Detroit.
